Canillas de Albaida best things to see and do

A "very" white village

The origins of Canillas de Albaida

Canillas de Albaida takes its name from the period of Al Andalus, from the word alba. This whiteness does not come from the fact that it is a white village but from the small white flowers which surrounded the village at the time.

Canillas de Albaida and the Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park

For nature lovers, here is a village to delight you. there are several hikes starting from Canillas de Albaida.

The village is located right at the entrance to the natural park of las Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama (40,000 hectares of protected nature, shared between the province of Malaga and the province of Granada).

In the middle of summer, if you are looking for a bit of freshness, I can only advise you to move away a little from the beaches of the coast and come to the Fabrica de la Luz.

3 km from the village, there is the old building which was used to produce electricity, the fabrica de la luz. It is the starting point for nice walks in the cool along a river, lost in nature and with small natural pools.
