El Saltillo hike with hanging bridge in Canillas de Aceituno

Hanging bridge in Sierra

El Saltillo hike : GR249 in Gran Senda Malaga

The El Saltillo hike is a hike like no other, long for the bravest of around 15 km, which connects Canillas de Aceituno to Sedella . We cross the 3rd longest hanging bridge in Spain.

The photos are at the bottom of the article.

This trail takes place at the foot of the Maroma, highest mountain in the province of Malaga with an altitude of 2068 meters.

It was opened in September 2020, and bears the nickname Caminito del Rey de la Axarquia.

The rules for this walk

We take a small backpack with food and drink, as well as a bag that will be used to keep all the rubbish to throw it on the way back, and especially not to leave anything in nature. For safety, and even if there are more than 300 sunny days a year, we check that there has been no rain on the previous days

Ideally, we come with a walking stick. access to the suspension bridge is via a path with a significant drop.
