Phoenicians in Torre del Mar

Ancienne usine de canne à sucre à Torre del mar en Axarquia en Andalousie
Old sugar cane factory

Torre del Mar presents an exhibition about Phoenicians

This exhibition, like the one on the history of sugar cane cultivation, is presented in the old cane sugar factory  This factory was closed about 30 years ago (in 1991) and you can still see its 3 large fireplaces.

The Costa del Sol undoubtedly brings together the largest Phoenician remains in the western world. All around Torre del mar and Velez-Malaga there are numerous archaeological sites of ancient Phoenician settlements.

For those interested in the history of the Phoenicians, the Costa del Sol and Axarquia , this exhibition is interesting to discover.

Next door, the exhibition on the history of sugar cane cultivation is also very rich in information.

Finally, the photo panels of the birth of tourism in Torre del Mar are eloquent on the development of tourism in Spain.
