About Zuheros and the Fiesta del Queso
Zuheros
Zuheros is a small white village in the south-east of the province of Cordoba, in the famous Subbética Cordobesa region.
Thanks to its excellent state of conservation, this delightful white Cordoban village was declared a historic and artistic site in 2003.
And, since 2016, it has been part of the network of the most beautiful villages in Spain – Pueblos más bonitos de España -.
La Fiesta del Queso de Zuheros
This is a gastronomic event not to be missed. This 3-day festival attracts around 15,000 people and sells 12 tonnes of artisan cheese. A great success for a village of just 600 inhabitants.
More than 40 varieties of cheese are on offer for tasting. Everyone can buy a ticket, which entitles them to a drink and to taste 3 or 4 cheeses with each ticket.
Always listed in order of tasting, the varieties on display complement the vast range of cheeses made from cow’s, goat’s, ewe’s and mixed milk, as well as fresh, semi-ripened, ripened, soft, lactic and dairy cheeses……
Many of them are also made from raw milk and are organically produced.
There are also a number of cheeses from master craftsmen who have won national and international awards.
Dates of the Fiesta del Queso
The fiesta del queso de Zuheros will take place from 18 to 21 September 2025. It takes place at the end of September every year.
Fiesta opening times
- Thursday: 19:00 – 00:00
- Friday and Saturday: 10:30 – 00:00
- Sunday: 10:00 – 15:30
The event offers a festive, family-friendly atmosphere, with activities for all ages, including live music, children’s games, visits to a local cheese factory and dairy breakfasts.
Last but not least, this fiesta takes place in a magnificent setting, at the foot of the Zuheros castle-palace.
