How does this day tour work?
This tour is carried out in semi-private groups (2 to 8 people maximum) departing from Nerja, Torre del Mar and Torrox.
The guide Cipriano – pictured below – will pick you up in the morning at your place of stay in a Mercedes Vito and drive you to the Olive oil Route.
The details of this excursion
- Discover a centuries-old olive grove
- Take part in the olive harvest, if possible that day
This is a fantastic experience, which also gives you an idea of the work that has to be done in these olive fields, where mechanisation is impossible.
- Visit one of the main olive oil factories
- Discover the tools and methods used to make olive oil (a very impressive and instructive place)
- Tasting of several olive oils with a typical snack
- Cipriano will then take you to a typical restaurant for lunch.
- You will then visit the 2 villages known as the Pyrenees of the Costa del Sol:
Below is a photo of the village of Alfarnatejo, not far from the restaurant.
You will also discover the village of Alfarnate (photo below), whose olive oil cooperative also enjoys a fine reputation.
At the end of the tour, the guide will drop you off at your accommodation.
